The D-380 is a digital CD player that can also play music through the vacuum tube. The number '38' means that this CD player is compatiable with Luxman vaccum tube amplifiers, including the LX-380 vacuum integrated amplifier. The D-380 CD player features a vacuum tube output consisting of a buffer circuit using ECC82 vacuum tube and a dedicated transformer as well as an advanced digital circuit with a 32-bit compatible DAC and a jitter reduction IC. The CD player has a classic wooden box with a natural veneer finish, which also makes it compaitbale with the LX-380 on the outside.
As part of the '38' series, the D-380 has a selection function between the vacuum tube output and a semiconductor output
